W: I feel terrible. I need to relax. ⑥Do you know any good ways to fi ght stress?
M: Yeah, in fact, lemon tea makes you feel more relaxed. And also, you should eat low stress food like apples and grapes and eat
more vegetables.
W: Sounds very strange. I guess hamburgers and French fries cause stress, right?
M: Yeah. Hamburgers and French fries are high stress food.
W: Well, ⑦I guess I need to pay attention to what I eat.
(Text 7)
W: Good afternoon, sir. How can I help you?
M: Well, I picked up a cell phone here the other day, but there is something wrong with the screen.
W: I see, sir. I can get you a new one right away.
M: Actually, ⑧I was wondering if I could take another model instead? I was told that the new X-100 model has far more functions.
W: Absolutely! ⑨This model was on the market a week ago and they’re selling very well. Now, there are only a few left. Of course
it is a bit more expensive, but I think it will be well worth your money.

W: Hello, Mr Johnson. This is Kim Smith. 12 I’m calling about the position of senior editor that I saw on the Internet.
M: Well, thanks for calling. 10We’ll be having interviews next Monday and Tuesday. Are you free those days?
W: Unfortunately, 11 I’m going to be out of town next Monday. Can I have an interview on Friday? I’ll be back that day.
M: Well, that’s the plan. We need to fi nd someone to fi ll the position quickly. In other words, if you’re not free next Monday or
Tuesday, I’m afraid we won’t be able to consider you for the job.
W: OK, I think I’d better change my plan. 10 11 I will leave town next Tuesday morning.

M: You know what, 13 I have noticed that I’m 40 pounds heavier. That’s terrible.
W: Our jobs require us to be in front of computer screens for long workdays.
M: It’s said the offi ce worker sits in the offi ce for about 10 hours a day.
W: It’s so bad, 14 but to me, the worst part is that I don’t know how to reduce the pressure and tension from my work. I just can’t fall
asleep all night.
M: Well, everyone suff ers from stress at some time in their life. We can’t remove stress from our life entirely, but we can make
some changes. 15What about fi nding time to work out in a gym?
W: Well, I prefer outdoor exercise, such as running in a park, and climbing in a mountain area.
M: All right. 16Let’s go climbing this weekend. I need to get into shape and you can take your mind off work for a while.

W: Hello, everyone. My name is Amy. When facing stress, someone may choose to talk with their parents, some may do a lot of
exercise to reduce stress, 17 but the way I always take to deal with stress is to write down why I feel so sad or such kind of thing
and then I will feel better.
18Sometimes, I will do some exercise too, mainly running. And one of the by-products from exercising is that I can sleep through
the night, 7.5 to 8 hours. I don’t get up through the night, which helps me a lot to be prepared for tomorrow’s job.
I’d also love to have a piece of dark chocolate, which helps me reduce stress to some extent. However, many people will overeat when
they are stressed out. 19They stay up and eat up all those cookies without thinking about it, which is going to make things even worse.
Sometimes, I will just cry, crying out the sadness. 20 If I feel too sad to cry, I will listen to some blue music. Sometimes, it will take
a half day, but often, it will only take half an hour to light myself up again to do the remaining things.
Everyone has his own method to deal with stress, so, I think, it doesn’t matter what kind of way you choose to get over it, but how
long you will go out of it and you do go out of it that matter more.
