Hua Lane is the location of the south wall of Quanzhou
city in the Tang Dynasty, where there was a barracks here
in the Yuan Dynasty, and most of the garrison troops were
Mongolians, so it is also called “Mongolian Alley”. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the
Republic of China, there were many artificial flower shops in the alley, and because of the blaze of bright colors, it
was renamed “Hua Lane”(“hua” means flowers in Chinese). Hua Lane has always been a gathering place for top
craftsmen in Quanzhou, where handicraft culture is inherited, blooming all the way long.

Chengtian Road, formerly known as Chengtian Lane,
is located on the east side of Zhongshan Middle Road in
Licheng District. Starting from Zhongshan Middle Road in
the west and connecting with Nanjun Road in the east with
a total length of more than 300 meters, it can directly lead
to Chengtian Temple, the “the top temple in Minnan area”,
therefore being named Chengtian lane. The inscriptions
standing at the entrance of the alley on the west side and
the civil and military scholars coming out of the old house
of the Chen family on the east side of the alley, all show the
legacy of this ancient alley with a large number of celebrities.

Zhuangfu Lane is located on the east side of Zhongshan Middle Road. It was named after Zhuang Xia, a
young master in the Song Dynasty, who built his mansion here and later redeveloped the Zhuang’s ancestral hall.
Today’s Zhuangfu Lane is an important main road in the urban area. There are no ancestral halls, and the business
is prosperous, but the Chongyang Wood has been standing for five hundred years, witnessing the changes in the
world. Zhuangfu Lane till finds its moment of tranquility and freedom in the depths of the alley after all the ups
and downs.
