2005 年,北京師范大學(xué)和香港浸會大學(xué)攜手在廣東省珠海市創(chuàng)立北師港

浸大。北師港浸大是首家中國內(nèi)地與香港高等教育界合作創(chuàng)辦的大學(xué),也是

內(nèi)地第一所新型博雅大學(xué),是廣東省高水平大學(xué)重點學(xué)科建設(shè)高校。

University jointly founded UIC in Zhuhai in 2005.

UIC is the first full-scale cooperation in higher

education between the Chinese Mainland and

Hong Kong. Moreover, it is the first modern college

in the Chinese Mainland that upholds a liberal

arts education. The College has been listed as a

Guangdong high-level university constructing four

key disciplines.

A liberal arts education cultivates open-minded, wellrounded talents, enabling students to dig into their

academic fields of expertise with an interdisciplinary

English is the medium of instruction. UIC's curriculum is set up in line

with international academic standards and fulfils its robust quality

assurance requirements. The highest governing body is the UIC Council.

The President is responsible for the day-to-day business of the College and

reports to the UIC Council directly.

Graduates will be awarded Bachelor's Degrees by Hong Kong Baptist

University and Graduation Certificates by UIC. Upon completion of

postgraduate programmes, degree certificates will be awarded by Hong

Kong Baptist University.

of all the departments have studied or worked abroad,

with nearly 90% owning doctoral degrees. There are nine

professors listed in world’s top 2% scientists. Many faculty

members come from the world's top universities, providing

students with the best academic resources and advanced

teaching methods. Our outstanding scholars have nudged

UIC into the nation's top 100 in the concentration of highcalibre talents.

UIC focuses on its teaching and considers research an integral component of ensuring academic

quality. It offers two postdoctoral programmes and has been selected for the Guangdong provincial

high-level university development plan. Our staff members have received many types of research

funding at the national, provincial and municipal levels. UIC integrates resources in the Greater Bay

Area to build advanced platforms such as provincial key labs and transfer research results.

UIC’s Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) is a milestone positioned to drive cutting-edge research and

innovation. Drawing on high-calibre talents from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese

Academy of Engineering as well as UIC's resources, IAS is set to energise research collaborations,

creative answers and cross-disciplinary approaches.

With students and staff from all over the world, UIC creates an internationalised campus environment

and introduces students to different cultures. UIC has established partnerships with over 60 higher

education institutions in the world, providing students opportunities to travel and experience foreign

cultures and education.

How do new students quickly adapt to the English language learning environment? An English

Enhancement Programme for first-year students is offered at the beginning of the academic year

by the English Language Centre. The Centre focuses on developing English language skills through

courses, workshops, competitions, and several extracurricular activities. The Centre of Foreign

Languages and Cultures offers courses in foreign languages such as French, German, Japanese,

Korean and Spanish.

students learn about China's politics, economy, society

and culture. Students and staff can experience Chinese

traditional culture through courses about Guqin (an

ancient Chinese zither), Shedao (Chinese archery), Yayue

Students are inspired to develop their interests and hobbies in more than 100 interest clubs

and organisations. The interest clubs are categorised into academics, arts and culture, sports

and outdoor activities as well as voluntary services. UIC encourages students to participate

in service activities and programmes that benefit the wider community. Students can gain

social service experience and develop their servant leadership, whole person spirit, and civic

responsibility.

Equipped with a sturdy knowledge base, whole-person development, and good English

language skills, our students have achieved numerous great results. They have competed

against students from other universities in competitions at national and global levels.

UIC promotes \"hall culture\" emphasising the

communication and interaction between students and

teachers. Wardens and resident tutors live with students

in the halls to provide positive influence and guidance.

Residents organise inter-hall activities and form an active,

harmonious community.

UIC also provide the Mentor Caring Programme. Mentors

(teachers) and peer mentors (senior students) will advise

and support mentees (first-year students) with their daily

lives to help them quickly adjust to university life.

A total of around 20,000 students have received

Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees from UIC,

who continue their academic and professional life in

China or abroad. Most of UIC's graduates have opted for

postgraduate studies in well-known higher institutions

in the UK, the US, Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, and other

countries and regions. UIC graduates are also favoured

by the Global 500 companies and governmental

institutions. Some alumni were selected for the Forbes

Under 30 China, and some are doing their best in

providing social services.

Among the Class of 2023 who confirmed placement,

86.5% have opted for postgraduate studies with 83.4%

choosing further studies abroad. A total of 84.9% of

those who preferred destinations abroad have been

admitted to the world's top 100 universities.

UIC is located in the beautiful coastal city of Zhuhai in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao

Greater Bay Area. As one of China's most liveable cities, Zhuhai is adjacent to Macao and Hong

Kong, connected by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. Zhuhai was one of the first places

where modern Chinese met Western culture.

As a pioneer in China's liberal arts education, UIC is the product of the integration of the

Greater Bay Area and has actively engaged itself in local development with its educational

resources. UIC has organised academic seminars, lectures and summer camps, and have

built strong partnerships within the Greater Bay Area. We have cooperated with the local

government, agencies and institutions to support the development of various fields.

UIC continues to take advantage of the excellent location in the fast-developing

Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and to introduce more top

international teaching faculty. The College will cultivate more talents that will

participate in the growth of the Greater Bay Area, expand the size of its campus

and work towards building a university town with the historical Huitong Village.
