A “TO-BE-MARRIED” GIRL
A \"To-Be-Married\" girl
A rural girl living in a patriarchal family with a strong preference for boys has never
had her own room, spending her days with a worn-out couch as her companion.
Accustomed to constant disdain, the girl refuses to be treated as a commodity
awaiting marriage in her traditional family. Insults and torment drive her to escape
on the eve of an arranged marriage, seeking refuge for her ideal “room.\"

14 “THE ROOM OF GIRLS” \"The Room of Girls”
Having escaped the terrifying pink room, the girl decides to search for a haven.
Believing that a communal dormitory full of women would allow her to let
down her guard and live peacefully, the girl is surprised to find malice within
this seemingly secure environment. This is the first time she experiences the
indifference, discrimination, malice, and deceit of different people. Once again,
the girl chooses to flee, but she has nowhere to go as the world she is in doesn’t
have a place that can accommodate her, even if it’s just a small room.
