The Pagoda lying on the southern bank of the West Lake and a landmark of Hangzhou was built

in the Five Dynasties period. Its counterpart is Baochu Pagoda on the northern bank. Together

they form a splendid view of the two pagodas reflected in the Lake. At sunset when the Pagoda

has a long shadow reaching into the lake and is cloaked in the suns dying rays, it resembles a

respectable senior monk meditating. What a serene and peaceful view!

“雙峰”指的是西湖邊上的南高峰和北高峰。兩山相隔數(shù)里，遙相對(duì)峙，春秋佳日，

兩山在輕煙薄霧中隱現(xiàn)，作插入云端之勢(shì)，故名“雙峰插云”。從吳越國時(shí)期起，兩山就

為西湖邊的佛教名山，歷朝歷代以來，建有許多寺廟，是參禪問佛、登高覽勝的好地方。

The two peaks here refer to the South and the North Mountains both miles apart. On fine

days in spring and autumn, they loom vaguely in a thin mist as if they were piercing the clouds.

They became the famed Buddhist Mountains by West Lake in the Wuyue Kingdom and hosts of

temples have been built on them ever since as holy Buddhist sites. There tourists can overlook

this magnificent landscape.

“南屏晚鐘”并非指實(shí)景，而是指傍晚時(shí)分凈慈寺清

越悠揚(yáng)的鐘聲響徹整個(gè)湖面上空的意境，是“西湖十景”

中最早聞名于世的景點(diǎn)，北宋畫家張擇端就曾畫過《南屏

晚鐘圖》。

This scenic attraction instead of something physical actually

alludes to the aesthetic mood created by the melodious chimes

from Jingci Temple that echo across the sky over the lake. It is

the first widely acclaimed spot in the\"Top Ten Scenes of West

Lake\". Zhang Zeduan, a famous painter in the Northern Song

Dynasty, had a painting \"Evening Bell Ringing at Nanping Hill\".

景點(diǎn)位于小瀛洲，被譽(yù)為“西湖第一勝境”。 島南湖中建成有三座石塔，相傳為蘇

東坡在杭疏浚西湖時(shí)所創(chuàng)設(shè) ( 現(xiàn)有石塔為明代重建 )。在月明之夜，塔中燃燈，洞形燈光

印入湖面，宛若一個(gè)個(gè)小小的圓月，形成“明月映深潭，塔分三十二”之景，故得名“三

潭印月”。

This scenic attraction is also named “Lesser Yingzhou ”. The islet is located in the middle of

the West Lake and reputed as “the most beautiful scenery of the West Lake”. There are

three stone pagodas to the south of the Islet. They are said to have been erected first when

Su Dongbo had the Lake dredged and later rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty. Each pagoda has five

circular holes. When a bright full moon hangs in the sky, a lit candle is put in each of the pagodas

and the light from the fifteen holes is reflected on the Lake. The light from the holes, the

moon in the sky and their reflections on the Lake resemble hosts of small moons, constituting a

scenery of “Thirty-two moons are mingled together on the Lake”. That is why the Islet is named

Three Pools Mirroring the Moon.

鳳山水城門始建于 13—14 世紀(jì)（元代），

杭州古代五水門中，鳳山水城門是現(xiàn)在唯一尚存

The Gate also named as Misty Phoenix Mountain,

was built in the 13-14th centuries during the Yuan

Dynasty and is the only one of the five ancient

Hangzhou water gates that has survived the course

of history. The 20-metre river beneath it remains

what it was in the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, it is

an important resource in the study of the changes

occurring to The Grand Canal and Hangzhou itself.

橋西歷史街區(qū)因位于拱宸橋西岸而得

名，是清朝、民國以來沿運(yùn)河古鎮(zhèn)民居建

筑保存最為完整的地帶，也是大運(yùn)河杭州

段歷史遺存較為集中的區(qū)域，現(xiàn)在有著由

大批老工業(yè)廠房改造的博物館區(qū)。

Period kept in good condition, this historical

complex of buildings is an area of true

西興過塘行碼頭，位于西興老街官河沿岸，浙東運(yùn)河

的端頭。過塘行指的是專門替過往客商轉(zhuǎn)運(yùn)貨物的“轉(zhuǎn)運(yùn)

行”，主要是起到票據(jù)交換、貨物中轉(zhuǎn)的作用。數(shù)百年來，

浙東地區(qū)的糧食、棉花、絲綢、鹽酒和山貨在西興過塘，

轉(zhuǎn)運(yùn)到中原各地。

The wharf lies along the official river near old Xixing Street

on the end of the East Zhejiang Canal. At a transferring

station, tickets are exchanged and cargoes are transferred for

merchants coming from all parts of the country. For hundreds

of years, foodstuffs, cotton, silk, salt, alcohol and mountain

products were transferred here on route to the Central

Plains.

拱宸橋，始建于明崇禎四年（1631），是一座三孔駝

峰薄拱薄墩聯(lián)孔石拱橋，位于杭州北部的大運(yùn)河杭州塘上、

大關(guān)橋之北，東連麗水路、臺(tái)州路，西接橋弄街，是京杭

大運(yùn)河到杭州的終點(diǎn)標(biāo)志。

The Gongchen Bridge built in 1631 is a three-holed stone arch

bridge crossing Hangzhou's section of The Grand Canal. It

is located to the north of Daguan Bridge in the north of the

city, linking Lishui and Taizhou Road in the east with Qiaonong

Street in the west.

廣濟(jì)橋一名碧天橋，又名通濟(jì)橋，建于明弘治年間（15 世紀(jì)末），

今橋?yàn)榍蹇滴跄觊g（17 世紀(jì)末）重修。廣濟(jì)橋位于杭州市余杭區(qū)塘棲

鎮(zhèn)西北，南北向架于京杭大運(yùn)河上，為古運(yùn)河上僅存的一座七孔石拱橋。

The Bridge spans The Grand Canal in the northwest of Tangqi Town,

Yuhang District and its scenic name is Tongjitongqu, meaning helping all the

people to go in many directions. It was first built during Hongzhi's reign of

the Ming Dynasty at the end of the 15th century and the present bridge

was renovated during Kangxi's reign of the Qing Dynasty in the late 17th

century. It is the only remaining seven-holed arch bridge on The Grand

Canal.

and Fuyi Granary before you go to Xiaohezhi Street to find

南宋御街曾是南宋都城的中軸線，是古

代皇帝祭拜祖宗時(shí)的專用道路。如今的御街

是由普利茲克獎(jiǎng)得主王澍主持規(guī)劃設(shè)計(jì)，歷

經(jīng)兩年左右打造的一條“宜居、宜商、宜游、

宜文”的商業(yè)步行街。

The Street used to be the central axis of

the Southern Song capital and the special

road where emperors walked to worship

their ancestors. The design of the present

imperial street was presided over by Wang

Shu, a Pritzker Architecture Prize winner and

it took about two years to construct. It is a

commercial pedestrian street ideal for living,

doing business, or just experiencing the culture

as a tourist.

This Southern Song imperial field is in the shape of an eight diagram

(The central shape of traditional Chinese philosophy). It is for the eight

Emperor Mountain, you can overlook the eight-diagram field in its

entirety.

靈隱寺創(chuàng)建于東晉咸和三年（328），距今 1600 多年，是杭州最早的

名剎。靈隱寺不僅是杭州規(guī)模最大的佛教寺院，還是中國香火最為旺盛的

寺廟之一、中國十大禪院之一，在國內(nèi)外都享有極高的知名度。靈隱周邊

均為佛教凈地，有上天竺、蓮花峰等名山，也有三天竺、永福寺等古剎，

梵唄相聞，佛音莊嚴(yán)，禪意隱現(xiàn)。

The Temple also known as the Temple of Soul’s Retreat was built in 328, which

was the 3rd year during Xianhe's reign of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It was the

earliest temple built in Hangzhou. It is well known internally and externally, as

it is the largest and one of the top ten most popular Buddhist temples in China.

It is surrounded by other Buddhist sites, such as: the Upper Tianzhu Mountain,

the Lotus Peak, the three Tianzhu Temples and the Yongfu Temple. At last, you

can also hear the solemn chanting of Buddhist prayers.

“江南藥王”胡慶余堂地處清河坊歷史文化街區(qū)，系清末“紅頂商人”

胡雪巖于清同治十三年（1874）創(chuàng)建。胡慶余堂中藥博物館以胡慶余堂古

建筑為依托，分中藥起源陳列展示、手工作坊、營業(yè)大廳、藥膳廳和保健

診療五大部分，是傳承發(fā)展中國五千年中藥文化精粹的重要場所。

Huqingyu Hall acclaimed as the No. 1 medicine hall in the south of China is

located in Qinghe Lane Historic Cultural Community and built by Hu Xueyan,

an official businessman in the year 1874, the 13th year during the reign of

emperor Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty. The Museum is an important site of

passing down and developing the cultural of the 5,000-year-old traditional

Chinese medicine (TCM). It is centered around the medicine hall and divided

into five sections: origin of TCM, exhibition hall, manual workshop, business hall,

medicinal food hall and health care hall.

建于清同治十一年（1872）“紅頂商人”胡

雪巖事業(yè)的巔峰時(shí)期，歷時(shí)三年，耗資 300 萬兩

白銀，占地 10.8 畝，是一座極富中國傳統(tǒng)建筑

特色又具有西方建筑藝術(shù)特色的宅邸，其造園

之精巧，用料之奢華，堪稱“江南第一豪宅”。

The construction of what is now the Former

Residence of Hu Xueyan lasted for three years, to

the expense of 150 million grams of silver dollars

when Hu Xueyan was at the peak of his business. It

occupied 7,200 square meters and was completed

in 1872. With its exquisite design, superb building

materials, and blending of the features of traditional

Chinese and western architecture the residence

was deservedly ranked as the First Luxurious

Mansion of Southern China.

The Xin’an River, Fuchun River and Qiantang River all flow from the

west to the east through Hangzhou into the East China Sea. Together
